The CalHHS Behavioral Health Task Force is Updating its Membership and Accepting Applications

Individuals who are interested in serving a three-year term on the California Health & Human Services Agency's Behavioral Health Task Force (BHTF) to advance BHTF goals as outlined in the 2022 BHTF Charter are invited to submit an application. All applications are due on July 31st COB.

The California Health & Human Services Agency has convened the Behavioral Health Task Force (BHTF) to inform its work on behavioral health issues across the state. The diverse BHTF membership is positioned well to elucidate connections among wide ranging perspectives and interests related to behavioral health needs and care, ground truth the framing of behavioral health issues in the State, and advance innovative and coordinated work to drive progress. The Key Goals of the BHTF are:

Goal 1.  Ground truth the State’s behavioral health agenda

Goal 2. Uplift constituency voices

Goal 3. Promote learning to expand collective understanding of behavioral health issues facing the State

Goal 4. Advance approaches that are creative, responsive, and coordinated

Individuals who are interested in serving a three-year term on the BHTF to advance BHTF goals as outlined in the 2022 BHTF Charter are invited to submit an application. The BHTF membership application can be accessed using this link. Below is additional information about the process and the application.

Who can apply: Any individual who is passionate about behavioral health state policy and its integration with local efforts.  Individuals who represent diverse perspectives, including but not limited to advocacy and policy, peers, children, youth and families, TAY, families and support systems, disability, equity and social justice, education, tribes, justice impacted, LGBTQ+, aging population, veterans, and healthcare service providers are invited to join the BHTF. Current BHTF members are invited to resubmit their application or nominate others.

What is included in the application form: The application provides an opportunity for applicants to share about the perspective (organizational and personal) that they will contribute to the BHTF, identify the issues that they would like to advance, and explain how they might connect the work of the BHTF with their own networks in their communities.

Application schedule: All applications are due on July 31st COB. Agency staff will review applications and notify new members ahead of the BHTF quarterly meeting, which is scheduled for Tuesday, September 12th (hours and agenda TBD). The September meeting will be held in person in Sacramento.
