Never a Bother x Coachella Music Festival 2025

Never a Bother, California’s youth suicide prevention campaign, partnered with the every one space at Coachella Music Festival (April 11–19, 2025) to create a safe space for festival attendees needing mental health support.
Through a multi-faceted activation, Never a Bother spread awareness around mental health and suicide prevention. Activities included a bilingual panel on music and mental health, social media promotion and content from youth, community-based organizations, and influencers, and the distribution of educational materials to festival-goers.

The bilingual panel discussion, hosted within the every one space, featured program director Dr. Paula Brown; Never a Bother Youth Advisory Board member Shailen Dawkins; Director of Rainbow Youth Pride Alliance, Dr. Jon Paul Higgins; and El Mallila, a Mexican reggaeton singer and songwriter.
Coachella represented an opportunity to connect with, and support, a diverse group of youth and young adults in a direct, fun, and impactful way. In addition to a significant LGBTQ+ community presence, 73% of Coachella attendees are between 18–35 years old, and over 56% identify as Hispanic/Latinx, Black/African American, or Asian. Never a Bother distributed palm cards and stickers offering resources on helping a friend, coping skills, warning signs of suicide, and crisis hotlines such as 988, Teen Line, and Trans Lifeline.

The campaign’s impact was further amplified when Never a Bother was featured on Coachella’s official Instagram page as one of the top mental health resources for attendees.
To extend their reach, Never a Bother collaborated with influencers Leo Gonzalez and Tray Taylor, both digitally and on-site. Their content highlighted topics such as how to support a friend at a festival, the healing power of music and dance, and lighthearted moments like giving compliments to attendees—helping foster a culture of care and connection throughout the event.
