Turning Action into Awareness During Mental Health Month – A Listicle
1. CalHHS’ Secretary Johnson and First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom shared the #onething they each do to take care of their mental health and urged Californians to make space for their own self-care.
2. A few of the Never a Bother Campaign’s youth advisors shared videos talking about the #onething that helps them manage their mental health. Watch to discover Celina’s #onething
3. The Take Space to Pause Campaign shared plenty of unique ideas for youth and young adults to consider when it comes to pausing to do that #onething for mental health.
4. Soluna ambassadors took the time to film their own videos talking about their go to ways to manage stress – including gaming with friends and crafting!
5. Youth participating in HCAI’s Youth Co-Lab and the CYBHI’s Children and Family Network (Black Students of California United) were among the youth eager to jump on the #onething bandwagon.
6. Youth advising CYBHI campaigns authored op-eds about their mental health journey that ultimately were published in The Voice Magazine (Page 6), Sacramento News and Review, and Periódico Día a Día News.
7. The Live Beyond Campaign activated at library events across the state brought the healing strategies and hopeful messages from the Live Beyond ACEs and toxic stress campaign to Sacramento, Orange and San Francisco Counties. Watch one in action.
8. Live Beyond printed toolkits including bookmarks, an activation guide, palm cards and more and mailed them to libraries throughout the state – encouraging them to host their own healing strategy events and create safe spaces in their communities.
9. The Live Beyond Campaign also launched a new booklist page featured youth advisors sharing their favorite book to help on their healing journey and encouraged visitors to take a quiz to find the best book to help them live beyond ACEs. Check it out.
10. The Never a Bother Campaign created a toolkit for youth including stickers, a palm card a resource magnet and an activity book.
